Saratoga's fire safety services have changed over the years. Did you know...
1. From the 1800's - early 1920's, the Department was an all volunteer operation. Equipment was a man-pulled horse cart and buckets.
2. The Department moved to Saratoga Garage (present location) in 1949.
3. The District employs 24 professional firefighters, 25 volunteer firefighter, an ambulance company, three engines, and a rescue vehicle.
4. The population of Saratoga has doubled since 1956.
5. The number of fire and emergency calls has increased 25% in the last 10 years.
6. The District has partnered in a city-wide border drop agreement.
7. Paramedics are now on our engines.
